Architected and developed Web Services applications with Open
Source technologies for use by the United States Navy. Architecture
compliant with provisions in DOD I 8500.2.
Developed several small database applications for business use.
Developed with Perl, CGI, comma delimitated databases, Java, Enhydra,
SQL, Oracle and InstantDB.
Engineered a significant enhancement to allow aircraft flight
planners to avoid areas of undesired flight. Enhancement was developed
with C, FORTAN and a proprietary DB. In addition, developed software to
support flight plan changes for aircraft engine failure or
decompression problems.
Developed an enhancement for air traffic control research to
predict possible separation violations between aircraft. Developed with
C and flat file databases.
Developed command and control applications for satellite orbit
and attitude determination. Developed with Ada and Sybase.
Involved with many full software life cycles, including rapid
prototyping, and have experience which every phase of a software
project.
SYSTEMS INTEGRATION
Integrated Open Source, Government Off The Shelf (GOTS), and
Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) products into a production application
to be used extensively by the United States Navy.
Integrated an IMAP / LDAP email system with a pre-existing
wireless portal application.
Upgraded several applications with newer versions of the
application server Enhydra. Required knowledge of Apache, Enhydra,
Java, and HTML.
Provided hardware, operating system and application software
research and planning for an administrative application to change the
settings, configurations and billing for a portal application. Required
knowledge of SSH, TCP/IP, Java and HTML, Wireless protocols and
required storyboard design.
MANAGEMENT
Prime technical contract leader of Navy Information Assurance
software web application. Team consisted of 5 sub-contract companies.
Project developed with Open Source technologies with Web Service
technology, and followed current rules of DOD Certification and
Accreditation.
Served as release manager of a large Internet bulletin board
application. Recorded all significant software and hardware changes.
Developed a configuration management system to allow for regression,
and to maintain order for new developments.
Product management liaison between world wide sales offices and
engineers. Developed priority management system to allow for priority
customers to receive orders, and still maintain satisfaction with lower
priority customers.
